# Terms and renewals

> How term billing works: 1, 3, 6 or 12 months prepaid, the discount per term, automatic renewal at a locked price, grace, suspension, extending and cancelling.

A server is rented for a term, prepaid from your balance. The term renews by itself for the same length at the same price until you turn renewal off or cancel.

## The four terms

One month is the raw cost sheet. Three, six and twelve months cost us less to run (one provisioning, no re-image between tenants, a firmer power forecast) and that saving is passed on: 3 %, 6 % and 10 % off the server, its options and any licence. For a single H100 SXM:

| Term | Discount | Per month | Charged at order |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 month | — | $1,134.00 | $1,134.00 |
| 3 months | −3 % | $1,099.98 | $3,299.94 |
| 6 months | −6 % | $1,065.96 | $6,395.76 |
| 12 months | −10 % | $1,020.60 | $12,247.20 |

A month is 30 days. The price is locked when you order and stays locked for as long as the server renews without interruption.

## Renewal

At the end of the term the same term is charged again from the balance and the server continues. The dashboard shows the next renewal, its amount and the balance after it; the top-up page proposes the exact amount that covers it.

## Not enough balance

1. **Grace, 72 hours.** The server stays online and the console shows “renewal due”. Top up and the term is charged at once.
2. **Suspended, 14 days.** The server is powered off, data intact. *Resume* charges one term and brings it back exactly as it was.
3. **Cancelled.** After 14 days the server is released and its storage securely erased.

## Extend, stop renewing, cancel

- **Extend** charges one more term now and pushes the end date out. Use it before a trip.
- **Auto-renew off** lets the paid term run out; the server then stops and is erased 14 days later. Turn it back on any time before that.
- **Cancel** is immediate and final; the rest of the paid term is not refunded. The console asks twice.

**Changing the configuration.** More cards, another region or a different template is a new server at the price of that day. Options (extra NVMe, IPv4, VLAN) are chosen at order time and billed with the term.
